Fans Engagement On Conservation and Awareness on Environmental Matters During Sporting Events

We had an opportunity to join our partners Wadau Connect Initiative ( a Kenyan Fans Family community group) on the Wadau Fans Fun Sports Tournament that was held at Absa Grounds, Nairobi. We witnessed day with a fantastic way to blend fun with purpose!

While fans cheered on their teams and other having fun at tents, we took the opportunity to educate them on responsible and sustainable waste disposal. The power of taking individual actions in ensuring proper management(This was facilitated by ensuring each team is given its eco- friendly bin bag for its waste).

The need for carrying the message of environmental conservation to their homes and communities. This was a challenge to the teams by our partners who conducted the education part WePlanet Africa and Kahawa Pride Lionesses FC

Later on, we lead the Fans through a tree planting session within the sports facility.

Sports have incredible power to advocate for climate action and rally communities towards safe, eco-friendly practices. Together, we’re proving that sports, fun and environmental responsibility go hand in hand!
